Akbar was born in the year 1542. Akbar was the son of Humayun. In 1555, Humayun gained power as a ruler but after a few months, he died leaving the throne to Akbar. Akbar was put to the throne when he was just 14 years old.Akbar inherited a small kingdom which was a collection of few towns and villages. Bhairam was Akbar’s caretaker who took care of him and guided him to reach a position. Akbar was a vigorous defeater. He conquered several kingdoms and expanded his empire.Akbar always rewarded talent, loyalty, and intelligence irrespective of the ethnic background. This helped him win people’s hearts. He gave freedom to people to follow their own religion. He supported every religion and even attended various religious events.He was the lover of music, art, intelligence, and architecture. This is the reason that all these sectors were thriving in his court. He even arranged some of the best talent shows of poetries, musicians, philosophers.Akbar the great was a reformist emperor. He is called “Akbar The Great” because of the religious and social reforms he introduced in the medieval period. He was the third ruler of the Mughal dynasty and was a skilled diplomat, military innovator, and an excellent administrator.

Akbar- The Great

Maharana Pratap was a brave ruler and leader from Rajasthan. Maharaja Mansingh who was the king of Jaipur once came to meet Rana Pratap. Mansingh had tied his sister’s knot with Akbar to save his state. He was general of Akbar and came to meet Rana Pratap to convince him to sign the treaty. Rana Pratap greeted him well but denied to accompany him for the food. When asked for the reason he said, “I do not accompany Rajputs who in order to save their state have surrendered their daughters or sisters to Mughals.” Mansingh’s ego was badly hurt after hearing this. He decided to attack Rana Pratap.Mansingh along with Salim (Akbar’s son) went on to attack Rana Pratap. A fierce battle was fought on 18 June 1576 at HaldiGhati. Rana Pratap gave a tough fight to Mansingh and his army.Rana Pratap was trying to get out of the encircled army but someone fired an arrow on Rana Pratap’s horse Chetak. The horse was badly wounded due to the arrow. In spite of the wound, Chetak continued running. He carried Rana on his back and they came across a stream. Chetak died when they reached as he ran out of capacity.Rana Pratap had a younger brother Shaktisingh who worked for the Akbar. In the middle of the battle, Rana Pratap saw Shaktisingh killing soldiers from the Mughal army. Ranaji was surprised when he saw that. Shakti Singh came to meet Ranaji and immediately hugged him. he said, “Dada, I do the service to the Mughal but you are still my idol. I work for Mughals as I do not possess courage and a strong mind like you but you are still my ideal.”Although Akbar and his army tried to defeat Rana Pratap but their attempts were not successful in front of determined, courageous and strong Rana Pratap.
