Musquito repellent for babies
Mosquito repellents can be used after 2 months of birth. For babies younger than two months to protect them using the proper clothing and bed nets. Once you decide to use a mosquito repellent, consider these points. • Avoid using chemical-based repellents: Some chemical repellents label 'natural' but, always look at the ingredients. The most common chemical used in Indian repellents is N, N-diethyl-benzamide (DEB). You might also find some repellents with N, N-diethyl-3-methyl benzamide (DEET) though these are harder to find. Products containing oil of lemon eucalyptus or its synthetic form, PMD, should not be used on children aged younger than three years. • Apply very little: Don't apply a thick layer of product in the hope of better protection. This will expose your baby to more chemicals. • Do not apply on face: Spray repellents in open areas to avoid breathing them in. Never spray insect repellent directly onto your child's face. Also, do not spray insect repellent on cuts, wounds, or irritated skin.
