Young children may bite due to teething sensation or it could be an act of self-defence, while toddlers may bite another person to release frustration. If the child bites out of frustration to release anger, try and look into their eyes, ensure they make an eye contact and ask them for the reason. Make a firm ‘no’ or ‘no biting’ rule. Get down to their level and inform them that biting hurts and we cannot hurt other people. While explaining the child, the tone should be calm but firm.
