Easter is an important festival for Christians. The festival is celebrated after three days of crucifixion of Jesus i.e. Good Friday. Crucifixion means killing someone by nailing the person across the cross. It is celebrated on Sunday and it is often known as ‘Easter Sunday’. This festival is celebrated to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus. Resurrection is a concept of living beings coming back to life after death. Easter Sunday celebrates Jesus coming back to life after he was hanged on the cross. According to the Bible, Jesus Christ was crucified on Good Friday. He was buried in a grave. On the third day, his disciples visited his grave and found out that the grave was empty. The day stands for the victory of Christ over death. The resurrection of Jesus is what ultimately makes him the ‘Son of God’. People celebrate Easter through various events and activities. Churches are decorated with flowers, lightnings, and candles. People visit the church and offer their prayers. Children decorate Easter Eggs with colours and sparkles. Various events are organised like Egg Hunt, Egg festival, etc. People prepare a variety of cuisines and celebrate the festival with their families. The tradition of Easter Eggs represents fertility and birth. It signifies new life, fertility, and rebirth. It is believed that the hard shell of the egg symbolises the sealed ‘Tomb of Christ’ and the egg's cracking represents his resurrection from death. Painted eggs or Chocolate filled eggs are common gifts exchanged at this festival. People light candles in the churches on Easter which represents that the life of Jesus is a guiding light to the world. They are lit to spread light and give hope.

He had appointed Joshua, one of the twelve spies of Israel sent by Moses to explore the land of Canaan, to be his successor, as he was a man who loved God. God told Joshua to prepare the people to cross the river Jordan, so that they could go and take Jericho. Joshua sent two spies to scout the city, and they were given refuge by a woman named Rahab. She asked that when they took the city, they would spare her and her family. They agreed, and as she lived on the wall, she lowered them out her window to the other side. God told the people that the arc that held the Ten Commandments should be carried by twelve priests, and that they and all the people should march around the city of Jericho, sounding their trumpets once every day for six days, and on the seventh day, they were to march around it seven times. At the sound of the trumpet after the seventh round on the seventh day, the walls of Jericho would come crashing down. Joshua made the people obey, and everything happened just as God said. Joshua remembered Rahab, and took her and her family safely out of the city, after which, they burned the city of Jericho to the ground. Moral:God goes before His people and gives them victory in battle.

When he created the Earth, it was completely dark and was covered with water. God thought that would make life difficult on Earth. So, on the first day, God said, “Let there be light.” Within a few seconds, there was light. He called the light, ‘Day’ and the dark, ‘Night’. Then he decided to make the sky. So, on the second day, God made the sky. On the third day, God created the land. The land came out of the water. God then called the land, Earth and the water, Sea. The Earth looked beautiful with the light, sky, land, and sea. To make earth look even better he created plants and trees. The Earth looked beautiful with trees and plants. On the Fourth Day, God created the Sun to shine in the day. He created the moon and stars to come out at night. On the fifth day, God filled the sea with fish and plants. He also created birds to fly in the sky. To everyone, he gave the ability to multiply. On the sixth day, he created all kinds of animals to fill the earth. And finally, on the sixth day, he created his biggest creation of all, Man. He made man to take care of his creation. He created man and woman (Adam and Eve) and gave them life. Unlike animals, Man and woman would have a soul. God created everything in six days. On the seventh day, God said, “I need rest”. He rested on the seventh day, blessing everything he made. So, it is believed that God took seven days to create beautiful Earth.

The devil went to Him and tried to tempt Him into turning the stones into bread, but Jesus replied that man does not live on bread alone, but on the Word of God.Then, the devil took Jesus to the highest point in the Holy City. He told Jesus to throw Himself from there for the scriptures said that the angels would save Jesus. But Jesus replied to him that we should not put the Lord to the test.The devil then tried to promise all the kingdoms of the world to Jesus, as long as He bowed down and worshipped him.But Jesus rebuked the devil and told him that worship is meant for God alone. The devil then left Jesus, and the angels of the Lord came to attend to Him. Moral:If you hold fast to the Word of God, then nobody will be able to cause you to stumble.

A long time ago, Jesus was at home, teaching his disciples and followers.His modest home was filled to the brim. People were jostling for space. But Jesus went on calmly to fill the people's heart with God's love.Soon, four men made their way to Jesus home. They were carrying their paralyzed friend with them. The poor man could not walk and was helpless.But there was no way for them to reach Jesus. But the friends had faith in Jesus and believed that only he could help their disabled friend. So they climbed onto the roof, cut a hole in it and lowered their friend towards Jesus.Jesus was touched by the simplicity and faith of these strong men. So he looked at paralyzed man and said ìArise and go home.î And in an instant, the man could walk again! Moral:With faith, everything is possible.

One day, Moses, the most important Jewish prophet, played many vital roles in the holy book Bible, saw an Egyptian man beating a Hebrew man. The sight of such injustice broke young Moses’ heart. As he tried to stop the fight, the Egyptian man was killed. Left with no other option, Moses had to flee Egypt to save his life.Moses wandered around as a shepherd, trying to understand the purpose of his life. One day, as he sat near Mount Horeb, tending to his sheep, he saw a miraculous sight! The Lord himself appeared to Moses in the middle of a burning bush. As Moses looked on with wonder, God spoke out “Remove your sandals as you stand on sacred ground.” Then he told Moses that the people of Egypt needed him, so he was to go back to save the Hebrew slaves. Moses was confused and said, “I am but a common man. How can I convince the Pharaoh to let slaves go? And in any case, the sons of Israel, the Hebrews in Egypt won’t follow me!” God knew that Moses still did not trust his strength, so he said, “Throw your stuff to the ground.” Moses did as the Lord said, and lo behold, the stuff turned into a serpent. And as Moses picked up the serpent it again became his stuff. Moses finally understood that he was God’s chosen one. With complete faith and trust in the Lord, Moses left for Egypt to save the sons of Israel. The story of Moses will be one of the kids favourite bible stories. Moral:We all have the strength to change the world.

Once, while passing through the town of Jericho, Jesus showed the world the meaning of hating the sin, not a sinner! As he was passing through the town, a crowd of people followed him. They wanted to hear Jesus talk about God's Kingdom!In that crowd, there was also a man called Zaccheus, the tax collector. He too wanted to see Jesus Christ. But he was a short man and could not see over the crowd.So, Zaccheus hit upon a clever idea. He climbed to the top of a tree so he could see who Jesus was.As Jesus was passing under the tree, he looked up and said, Zaccheus, come down, I must stay at your house today.îThe jubilant Zaccheus climbed down and began walking with Jesus towards his home.But the crowd was not pleased with this change of events. Most people in Jericho did not like tax collectors as most of them were greedy and dishonest.Jesus followers did not want their savior to be kind to such a sinner. But Zaccheus was a changed man. He promised Jesus that he would give half of his earnings to the poor and also return the money he had grabbed from common folks.This is just what Jesus had hoped for. He blessed Zaccheus and showed the people that one must hate the sin, not the sinner. Moral:Hate the sin, not the sinner.

When you find it, you are very happy and tell everyone that you found your lost sheep. You will call your friends and celebrate. In the same way, when a sinner repents, there is a lot of rejoicing in heaven. Moral:Jesus comes to save those who are lost and never gives up on anyone.
