Do baby hiccups mean they are freezing?
Hiccups are caused by sudden contractions of the diaphragm triggered by irritation or stimulation of that muscle. Cold is not the cause of hiccups as such and it does not mean that the child is freezing. But if there is a sudden change in the temperature of the child's stomach, babies do experience hiccups. Hiccups eventually stop by themselves. There is no need for any special remedy. If you feel it is too much, you can give a pacifier to your child. If the hiccups do not stop for a long time, consult your child's paediatrician.
