Once, there lived a washer man in the city of Patna who had a donkey that used to carry all the clothes to the riverside and back. The washer man used to feed the donkey well. The donkey also worked very hard for his master. But as time passed, the donkey grew old and was no longer able to work as hard as before. The cruel washer man stopped feeding the donkey as he was of no use for him. The donkey felt miserable and decided to go to Calcutta to become a musician. So, one fine day, the donkey left the washer man’s house to go to Calcutta.On his way, he met an old dog that was crying uncontrollably. The donkey asked him, “What is the matter, my dear friend? Why are you crying?” The poor dog replied, “My master used to love me very much till the time I was young and alert enough to guard his house. But now age has caught up with me and I am not able to catch the thieves. So, my cruel master has thrown me out of the house.” The donkey replied, “The same thing happened to me. So I have decided to go to Calcutta to become a musician. Why don’t you join me?” The dog agreed to accompany the donkey and together they set out for Calcutta.On their way, they both met a cat who was crying horribly. The dog and the donkey asked him, “Why are you crying?” The cat replied, “My master brought me to this house when I was very young. I could catch a lot of rats every day and my master gave me lot of milk to drink. But now I have become old and cannot catch rats anymore. So my master has turned me out of the house. I am crying because of that.” The donkey and dog were very sorry to hear the cat’s story. They asked her to join them. The cat thought it was a very good idea and then the donkey, dog and the cat started walking towards Calcutta.Walking ahead, they met a rooster that was weeping bitterly. The donkey, dog and the cat asked the rooster, “Why are you crying?” The rooster replied, “My master brought me to this house when I was young. I used to wake up early morning and wake him up so that he could go to work early. He also used to give me good food. But now I have become old. I keep sleeping till late in the morning. So, I am not able to wake him up and because of this, my master has kicked me out of the house.” Then the donkey, dog and the cat told the rooster, “We are very sorry to hear your story. We also became old and our masters are not giving us food. So we decided to go to Calcutta to become musicians. Why don’t you come with us?” The rooster thought it was a very good idea and joined them.By the evening, the four friends got very tired of walking. They were feeling very hungry. Then, the rooster climbed up the tree and noticed some light coming from a distance. They thought maybe they would be able to find something to eat there. So, they followed the source of light and when they reached there, they saw that the light was coming from a big house. The rooster volunteered to fly around and find out who lived inside the house. He found out that the house belonged to three robbers and they had a lot of food stacked up in the house. The four friends were starving by now, so they spoke to each other and made a plan.The donkey stood with his legs on the window. The dog stood on him. The cat stood on the dog and the rooster flew and remained on the top. All of them started singing at the same time. The robbers who were inside mistook the four animals for a strange looking ghost and ran away.The donkey, the dog, the cat and the rooster went inside and ate to their heart’s content. Then, they decided to spend the night in the house. The cat decided to sleep on the stove in the kitchen. The dog decided to sleep near the gate. The donkey decided to sleep near the outside wall and the rooster decided to sleep on the roof.The robbers who had run away were also hungry. They were watching their house from far away. One of them came back to the house sent to see if everything was all right. That robber slowly entered the house through the back door and went into the kitchen. He wanted to see whether there was milk on the stove.When he reached near the stove, the cat jumped up and scratched his face. The robber was terrified by this sudden attack and ran outside. The dog, who was lying near the door, bit his leg. He ran near the wall. The donkey kicked him and threw him on the roof. The rooster who was there on the roof, pecked all over him with his sharp beak.The robber jumped from the roof and ran to his friends. He told them in a shaking voice, “That ghost has now entered our house. It scratched me, bit me, kicked me and pecked me. We must never go back there.” The other robbers agreed and went away. The donkey, the dog, the cat and the rooster lived happily in that house and gave up the idea of going to Calcutta. At night, all of them used to practice music. Moral:Every creature deserves love and affection. Do not be selfish and use animals or birds for as long as they prove to be helpful for you.

This is an interesting story about the Ahmedabad city. Towards the beginning of the fifteenth century, the state of Gujarat was ruled by the Muslim Muzaffarid dynasty. Once Sultan Ahmed Shah was standing on the banks of river Sabarmati and noticed a tiny hare chasing a strong ferocious dog. He kept thinking about this strange situation. He approached a spiritual leader and asked for an explanation about the same. This learned man said that it is the uniqueness of this land that cultivates such rare qualities in its people. After having heard this, the Sultan got so impressed by the words of the spiritual leader that he decided to set up the new capital of Gujarat over here and called this land Ahmedabad. Moral: A place is defined by of its people.

It was me.” The woman realised that all along, these were the voices of animals and she could understand them because of her magic cap.Not only could she understand what they were saying but even they could understand her.The woman decided to use this gift to help animals whose needs could not be understood. She pledged to create a better life for them.

Imli was a very happy and playful little puppy. She was nearing her six month mark and her human parents sent her to get trained to be a guide dog.Imli was very excited as at the school, she met other puppies like her. Only then could they become guide dogs, and Imli was determined to ace all the tests and make her parents proud.However, one morning on a daily run she encountered a thief stealing a purse from an old lady. Her trainer had veered her and the other pups away. However, Imli couldn’t just follow orders and felt bad for the old lady.She ran after the thief, breaking her schedule, and even though she was tiny, she slowly caught up to him.This was how Imli saved the day. Moral:Having a fix routine is a good thing as it helps you be more organized. It is like a shelter. However, shelter can also prevent you from seeing the sun, so you sometimes have to break your general routine to follow your goals.

He wanted to help his friend but he did not want to break his promise and tell anyone else about this confession.Zeus’s human noticed that Zeus was not his usual cheerful self and was worried for him.He let Zeus be for a while but when his sulking intensified he decided to step in and help. “Hello, good boy! What is wrong with you?”Zeus let out a confused whine.Should he tell his human? Surely, his human can help. And Zeus just wanted to help Doodle.After a whole lot of cuddles Zeus made his decision and told his human about Doodle’s confession.His human smiled and assured him that he will fix this.Next time when Doodle and his human came to the dog park, Zeus’s human talked to Doodle’s human.Doodle’s human was shocked and felt guilty because Doodle felt neglected. She had not meant for that to happen and was simply just very absorbed in her work.She decided to make it up to Doodle.From then on, Doodle lived a very good life. He was always pampered and cherished by his human. Moral:Sometimes all it takes is a little courage to confess your problems because there is always someone out there to help.

They played his favourite game and she told him how much she’d missed him all day long.“I love her and she loves me. I am a lucky dog after all.”, sighed the black dog happily, as they curled up on the couch together. Moral:The black dog thinks he can have fun at someone else’s house until he realises that his own house is the perfect place for him. Always be grateful for what you have rather than looking around for happiness at other places.

HA!” said the rogue and went away.After a while, another rogue came to the Brahmin and said, “Good morning, learned Sir. I wonder why you are walking when you can very well ride on this pony of yours.”The Brahmin said, “My goodness! Do you think this goat is a pony?” “I thought you were a learned Brahmin. But now I understand that you are a fathead who knows no difference between a pony and a goat,” said the rogue and walked away.Sometime later, the Brahmin was approached by the third rogue. The third rogue said, “Good morning, holy priest. Why have you selected this donkey as your fellow traveller?” The Brahmin asked nervously, “Is this animal a donkey?”“Of course, it is,” said the rogue in an asserting tone. Now the Brahmin was very much frightened. He thought that the goat was really a monster who changed his form from time to time. So he ran away, leaving the goat behind.The three rogues laughed heartily and took the goat in their possession. Moral:Don’t change your opinion simply because others do not agree with you.

Once upon a time, there lived a wolf in the jungle. One day, he was very hungry, and he had nothing to eat. He went to find something to eat for dinner. After a while, he saw a boy feeding in a field, so he went up to him and said, “Hey boy, I am going to eat you!” The boy was surprised and asked him, “Who are you?” The wolf said, “I am a wolf, and I am looking for a good dinner.” The boy asked, “Which type of wolf are you? Because you look like a dog!” To which the wolf said, “No, I am not a dog. I am a wolf.” Then, the boy said, “Well, if you are a wolf then stand at the bottom of the hill and open your jaw wide. Then I will run down the hill and jump straight into your mouth.” The wolf agreed. So, the wolf stood at the bottom of the hill and opened his mouth wide. The boy climbed to the top of the hill. The boy ran down the hill rapidly and hit the wolf as hard as he could. The wolf rolled over and was knocked with the blow, while the boy ran off for home. The wolf was fooled. He then realized that why would anyone jump into his mouth with his own will. He went ahead to look for his dinner. Then, he saw a horse walking in a field, chewing the grass. The wolf went to the horse and said, “Mr. Horse, Mr. Horse, I am going to eat you!” The horse asked, “Who are you?”. “I am a wolf”, replied the wolf. The horse said, “You look like a dog.” The wolf denied and said, “I am not a dog, I am a wolf.” The horse then said, “If you think you are then it is fine. I am not very fat yet so you can start eating me from my tail meanwhile I will be eating some more grass.” The wolf excitedly went up to the horse from behind. As soon as he tried to jump on the horse from behind, the horse knocked him with his leg as hard as he could. The wolf rolled over, while the horse ran off. The wolf again thought, “Well, I was a fool. Who eats a horse from his tail?” He further saw a pig coming towards him. He went to the pig and said, “Mr. Pig, Mr. Pig, I am going to eat you.” The pig asked him the same question, “Who are you? I would like to know before you could eat me.” The wolf replied, “I am a Wolf and not a dog”. This time the wolf clarified before only that he was not a dog. So, the Pig said, “Okay, you sit down on my back. First I will give you a ride and then you can eat me.” The wolf sat down on the pig’s back. The pig carried him straight into the village. All the dogs in the village saw the wolf and rushed towards them and started teasing him. The dogs started laughing at him and made fun of him. The wolf felt very bad and he started crying and went back into the forest. The silly wolf was never seen again. Moral:﻿You do not need to prove yourself to anyone. Know your worth.
