Eli the elephant woke up early in the morning for her first day at school. She was very excited to go to school for the first time so she blinked away her sleep and got ready quickly.“Rise and shine!” Her mother said from the kitchen as she prepared food for Eli. Eli jumped around the house as she was beyond excited. Her mother asked her to calm down as Eli’s clumsy self broke a vase.She quickly ate her breakfast and went to her bus stop. Hurriedly, she climbed into the bus and left for school. Her mother proudly waved.Eli made many friends in her bus and was very excited. When she reached school she met her teacher Ms. Pot, the Hippopotamus. She welcomed Eli with a warm smile and ushered her inside.As everyone settled down, Eli looked around her class in awe. The teacher asked her where Eli’s bag was and Eli looked around. She could not find it and almost started crying.But just in time, her mother arrived with Eli’s school bag. Eli realised that in her excitement and hurry, she left the bag at home. Moral:Often times we mess up because we are too excited to focus. In times like those, we still must have a calm mind.

One day Kala, an ape found a baby on a high tree-house. The baby was without any furs. The parents of the baby were killed by a leopard named Sabor. The same leopard had killed Kala’s, own baby. So, Kala was very sad as he lost her baby.The baby that Kala found was very small and he needed care. Kala decided to take care of the baby. She decided to become her mother. Kala took the baby to her family group. All were quite shocked after seeing the baby. The leader, Kerchak did not like the idea of raising a human baby. He was afraid that the boy would become a threat to them when he grew up. He told Kala to take the boy back. But Kala pleaded him and said she needed the baby. At last Kerchak agreed. Kala became very happy. She said, “He will be a good son.” The Kerchak said that he has only allowed him to stay but he was not his son. After saying this, he left.Kala took extreme care of the baby and named him Tarzan. She would treat him like her son. The boy grew up quickly. Tarzan was always curious about everything. He wanted to explore various things. He was strong and active. He loved to mimic other animals. He made a unique sound ‘Tarzan Yell’. He made a lot of friends in the jungle. A female ape became his best friend. Her name was Terk. They use to play together and have a lot of fun.One day, they were playing and Terk dared him to take off a hair from an elephant. Tarzan accepted the dare and went to pull out a hair from an elephant’s head. As he went ahead, a young elephant saw him and thought he was piranha. The young elephant told every other elephant. All the elephants were very scared.All the elephants decided to do something. They all went to the gorilla’s feeding grounds. There they crushed and destroyed all their food. They even crushed a gorilla baby. When Kerchak found out about this, he was very angry. And when he found out that Tarzan was the reason behind it, he became furious. Kerchak became angry and said, “You can never become one of us.”Tarzan decided to prove Kerchak wrong and show him that he can become one like them. He said he will be the best ape. Tarzan worked very hard and learned many different skills. He learned from all the animals in the jungle. He became very strong. Tarzan even attacked Sabor, the leopard when he came to attack gorillas. He applied his skills and killed the leopard. He saved the entire family of Kerchak from the leopard.One day, they suddenly heard the gunshots. All of them ran for hiding themselves but Tarzan wanted to know what was happening. Tarzan was shocked when he saw people looking like him. He saw them from far away. He saw a girl in a yellow dress. A group of baboons was chasing her and Tarzan went and saved her. He was curious to know about these people. They looked just like him but were different. Tarzan took the girl’s hand and studied it. Tarzan did not understand anything. The girl said that her name was Jane and she came with her family to study apes. When Tarzan returned home, Kerchak asked him to stay away from humans. Tarzan tried to say that humans have not come to hurt them but he did not listen.The girl told everything about Tarzan to her father and the hunter Clayton. After seeing Tarzan, Clayton made an evil plan. Jane was told that he can take Tarzan with her to England. Jane talked with Tarzan and offered him some clothes. She invited him to the human world.Tarzan talked to his mom about this and his mom told him how she found about him and his real parents. She said, “You belong to them, Tarzan. You should go.” Tarzan was very happy and said, “You will always be my mom, no matter what.”Tarzan went with Jane and her father. They soon left for England. Onboard for England, Tarzan heard the evil plan of Clayton. Clayton wanted to capture all the apes and sell them to the highest payer. He even told that he would kill Jane and her father. Tarzan was shocked and let out a loud cry.In the jungle, everyone heard Tarzan’s cry and decided to help him. Tantor and Terk managed to get to the ship. His friends escaped Tarzan and came back to the jungle to warn everyone. Clayton turned his ship around to catch Tarzan. Clayton landed and searched for Tarzan and apes. Clayton saw the Tarzan and aimed his gun. Instead of Tarzan, Kerchak was hit by Clayton. Tarzan was very angry and went to Clayton and grabbed the gun. He fought with him and killed him. Then, he ran to Kerchak and started crying. He said with tears in his eyes, “Please, forgive me.”The Kerchak replied, “No, you forgive me for not understanding you. Take care of our family, son.” He died after saying this. Tarzan realized that the jungle was his home. That is where he belonged. He decided to live with his family.Jane realized that she could not live without Tarzan so she came back to him. They both build a tree-house and lived together. They lived happily with Kala and other gorillas. Moral:Family stays when nothing else does.

Billy was really excited today as it was the CIRCUS DAY and Billy loved going to the circus – all the animals and the people. It was so much fun!Billy along with his parents arrived at the huge red and white striped tent called the ‘Big Top’ at 8 o’clock sharp. The ringmaster shouted with his huge booming voice, ‘Good evening, ladies and gentlemen!’The first act of the evening was of a man and a woman dressed in sparkly clothes balancing on a huge swing at the top of the circus tent. They flew through the air. “Ooooo!” shouted the people every time they flew. It was very, very exciting.Next came in six huge and fierce looking lions along with a man. Billy watched as the man put his head in the biggest lion’s mouth. ‘Ooooo!’ shouted the people in horror and amazement.Now was the turn for the clowns. They wore brightly coloured clothes – blue and yellow and red with spots of green. The clowns had painted their faces with different colours and they had red coloured nose and hair. They fell over, told lots of jokes and did lots of very silly things. “Ha, ha, ha!” laughed everyone in the audience – and Billy laughed too.Finally, in the end it was time for the act of the elephants. There were three enormous grey elephants and one smaller one. The small one balanced on one leg and did lots of tricks. Then it stopped and looked up at Billy. “Hello,” said Billy to the elephant. “I’m Billy.”“I’m Minny,” replied the elephant to Billy’s surprise. Then all of a sudden MInny ran towards the door and barged out of the tent and on to the streets of the town. All the people rushed out of the circus tent screaming, “Aagh! The elephant – it’s escaped!” “Help!” cried the ringmaster. “Minny the elephant has escaped!”Minny was very happy as it was the first time she had been out of the circus! She felt good to be free and loved running about in the streets of the town! She ran along the main street towards the main square. She saw the fountain in the middle of the square and climbed into the big fountain to sit down in the water.People tried to walk by but Minny sprayed water at them using her huge trunk! “Oh, this is much more fun than the circus!” cried Minny. After a while Minny decided to explore the town. She went into the big supermarket. The people in the supermarket started screaming on seeing Minny and ran out of the supermarket. Minny had a wonderful time – she helped herself to the bananas and scoffed a large chocolate cake, ten packets of biscuits and a large number of buns.After she had eaten to her full capacity, Minny decided to explore again so she went out into the street. In the distance, Minny saw a big house but there was something strange about it – there was a red light all around it.Minny walked towards the house and heard people in the house shouting and screaming. “Help!” they shouted. “Save us!” Minny rushed into the garden opposite the house where there was a big pond with lots of water. She put her trunk in the water and took in as much water as she could. Then she rushed over to the house and sprayed the house with water. She repeated spraying the water from her trunk many times to clear out the flames and fire.Minny could see a small boy standing at a window at the top. The boy quickly opened the window and Minny took him out of the house using her trunk. “Minny!” he cried. “It’s me!”“Hello, Billy,” said the elephant. “You saved me!” cried Billy. “You are the bravest elephant in the world!” Billy’s mother and father came rushing out of the house. They couldn’t believe what they saw! Billy and their house were safe because of an elephant. The next day everyone from the town gathered around the town hall. Minny, the elephant was honoured with a special medal. Billy rode around the square on Minny’s back, waving and smiling at all the people.They went slowly back to the circus to rejoin the other elephants. Minny was so happy that she never wanted to escape from the circus again. Moral:Use your freedom for the right purposes.

CIRCUS ESCAPE

Once upon a time, a huge elephant lived in a forest. The elephant was very arrogant and cruel. He took advantage of his size and wrecked havoc in the forest. He roamed around in the jungle breaking branches and small trees with his trunk. He did not care about the fact that in this way he destroyed the nests of many birds and killed their babies. In the same way, he ruined many foxes’ homes by trampling over them with his huge and heavy feet. All the animals of the forest were terrorised by the elephant. Even the lions and tigers tried to keep clear of him. The animals had got so fed up of the elephant and his arrogant ways that they wanted to kill him but they could not come up with a way to do this. One day, fed up of the destruction that the elephant was causing, the foxes held a meeting among themselves. They decided that the elephant must be killed so that the other animals of the forest could live in peace. This difficult task of killing the elephant was given to a particularly clever fox.The chosen fox made a careful study of the elephant’s behaviour and daily routine. Then, after much thinking, he made a plan. He went up to the elephant one day and said, “My Lord, I want to speak to you about some urgent business.”The elephant trumpeted and asked the fox, “What is it? Who are you?”The fox replied, “Your Highness, all the animals of the forest have decided to make you our king. They have sent me to you as a messenger. I have come to escort you to the place where all the other animals are waiting for your coronation ceremony. All the preparations are in order. We are only waiting for you to arrive and then we will crown you as our king.”The elephant was very pleased. Becoming the king of the forest had always been his dream. He readily agreed to follow the fox. The fox led the way. On the way, there was a marshy area near a pond that the fox and the elephant had to cross. The fox was light so he easily walked over the swamp. But when the elephant tried to cross the swamp, he got trapped in the marsh because of his weight. The more the elephant struggled to get out, the deeper the marsh sucked him. The elephant began to shout, “Help! Help! I’m drowning. Pull me out. Go and call all the other animals for help, quick!”The fox, who was standing calmly at the edge of the swamp, replied, “Nobody is going to save you. This is the kind of treatment that you truly deserve. You have always been cruel to other animals and have mistreated them. You have taken advantage of your power and broken down countless birds’ nests without caring about their eggs or nestlings. You have stomped upon foxes’ burrows and crushed many foxes under your heavy feet. You knew about all the destruction and misery you were causing us but you did not care to stop. You never paid heed to our cries for mercy and so today, nobody is going to have mercy on you. It is not the day of your coronation but of your cremation.” Saying this, the fox left.The elephant struggled for hours but he could not come out of the swamp. Finally, he drowned in the marsh and died. It is true that every tyrant has to meet his doom. Moral:Karma always serves us what we deserve.

The fox and the elephant

Long ago, in a small village there lived an old woman who owned a black baby elephant. The children in the village called her Granny, and they had nicknamed the elephant as ‘Granny’s Blackie.’Granny’s Blackie was a very friendly elephant and used to give joy rides to all the children. The children also loved him dearly and shared their food with him. The old woman used to do stitching and tailoring work while Blackie used to enjoy the whole day with the children. Some years happily went past like this.One day Blackie wanted granny to accompany him to the woods. The old lady declined the offer, saying, “My dear, I cannot walk that far now. My health is deteriorating and I am no longer as active and energetic as I used to be some time back.” Blackie realized that Granny was growing feeble and older.He thought to himself, “This kind woman has looked after me for so many years. Now, it is my turn to repay the debt. I must find some work and start earning money for her.”Blackie set out to find some work for himself. When he was walking along the river’s bank, he saw a man who was looking troubled. He had some heavily loaded bullock carts standing in the middle of a river and his bullocks were finding it difficult to lug them. When he saw Blackie, he asked him to help his bullocks in carrying out the carts out of water. He promised to pay two silver coins for each cart that Blackie pulled out of the water.Blackie gladly agreed to help. He went into the river, and drew one cart after another across to the bank of the river. After completing his job, he went to take his money from the man. But, he saw that the dishonest man had given him only half the money he had promised.Blackie was really upset with the man’s dishonesty. He went and stood in the road and did not let the carts go past him. The man tried to get Blackie out of his way, but he did not budge an inch from his place. The man soon understood what the elephant wanted. He went back and gave Blackie the other half of the sum, as promised. He apologised to Blackie and put all the silver coins in the bag that Blackie was carrying around his neck.Blackie happily went home to give his first earning to his dear Granny. Blackie had been out since the morning, so Granny was getting worried for him and was waiting for him to return at the doorstep. When she saw Blackie coming back, she was overjoyed and asked him where he had been. Blackie narrated the entire story to her and put the bag full of silver coins in her hand. Granny was very proud of her Blackie! Moral:&nbsp;When you learn, teach. When you get, give. A life lived with a heart which is ready to give back, is a life full of satisfaction.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Granny’s Blackie

Once upon a time, a large herd of elephants lived in a jungle. Their king was a giant and impressive tusker. He looked after all the members of the herd with utmost love and care. Once, a severe drought hit the area. All the birds and the animals started dying out of thirst. The elephant king knew that he had to find water as quickly as possible. He asked the members of the herd to go in different directions to look for water. One of them found a large lake full of water in the woods far away. The king was very happy and ordered all the elephants to make their way to the lake. The elephants started clearing up the way to the lake for all the members of the herd. There was a colony of rabbits also on the way to the jungle. In their excitement of reaching the lake as soon as possible, the elephants trampled many rabbits under their feet. All the elephants were very happy to reach the lake. They had fun and frolicked in the water the entire day in the lake and once they were thoroughly satisfied, they left. The rabbits were in a state of panic as they knew that the elephants would return soon. Their king called a meeting. He said, “A herd of wild elephants has homed in on the lake near our colony. They have already killed or injured thousands of us. I am sure, they will come back soon. So, we must think of a way to stop them and prevent more deaths.” One little rabbit stood up and said, “I do have a plan to drive away the elephants from this forest. I will go to meet the king of the elephants when he will come again this side.”The next day when the rabbit saw the herd of elephants coming towards their side again, he climbed up a huge rock and shouted at the top of his voice, “O king of the elephants, hear me, please.” The king heard his voice and turned towards him. “Well, who are you?” he asked. “I am a messenger of the moon,” replied the rabbit. He further added in a firm tone, “I have come here to tell you that the moon is mighty upset with you as you have spoiled his lake. He is thinking of punishing you strictly for your deed.” Upon hearing this, the elephant king got frightened. He said, “Please take me to God Moon. I will seek his forgiveness.” The clever rabbit said, “All right! Meet me alone tonight at the lake.”That night, the king elephant as told by the rabbit, reached the lake alone. The rabbit and the elephant both stood near the edge of the lake. It was a moonlit night and a mild breeze was blowing. The rabbit asked the elephant to look carefully into the water of the lake.When the king elephant looked into the water he saw the reflection of the moon. Just then a mild breeze blew and created ripples in the water of the lake. With the ripples, the reflection of the moon in the water also became wavy and disturbed. Pointing to the disturbed reflection of the moon, the little rabbit said, “Look for yourself, how annoyed God Moon is with you! He may even curse you to death, if you do not ask for his forgiveness.”The king elephant was extremely frightened and promised that he or any member of his herd would never visit the Moon’s lake again. The clever trick of the little rabbit worked and all the rabbits lived happily, thereafter. Moral:Intelligence can overpower strength.

The moon lake

Granted that all elephants have giant ears, but Elly had the giant ones.Her ears were larger than her mother’s, larger than her father’s, even larger than her grandfather’s ears!Such large ears? But Elly was such a small and delicate little elephant. She was always tired due to the weight of her ears. Tired and hungry due to carrying her heavy ears everywhere, she comes home with a frown.“Maaaaa!” She shouts. It was a particularly gruelling day at school, they had volleyball selections and Elly was more than stressed. She wanted to vent about it to her mother. She told her mother that she was stressed about the match.The next day at the volleyball event, Elly feels very insecure about her large ears in front of the audience. This disturbs her performance.She comes home crying again and shouts for her mother, “Maaaaa!”Her mother doesn’t know how to make her daughter feel better. She tries to comfort her daughter but it is all in vain.So she comes up with a new trick. She sits Elly down in front of the television and switches to a sports channel where a volleyball game is playing.Watching the game Elly has already calmed herself. Her mother points to the amazing volleyball players and says, “Elly look! Mon the monkey’s nose is too big. Croc the Crocodile’s mouth is too wide. But do you see anyone talking about it?”That is how Elly slowly realises that physical flaws hold no bearing in front of her talent.It takes a long time for Elly to become better fully understand this but slowly she overcomes her insecurities.Moral:Accepting your body is the first step towards self-love.

The elephant's ears

In a jungle, there once lived a jackal. He was very smart and clever. One day, he was passing by and saw a dead elephant in his way. The jackal was happy to see the elephant and could not wait to eat the flesh. He went closer to the elephant and tried to cut the skin of the elephant with his teeth. He tried very hard but could not cut the skin as it was very tough. The jackal tried many times but failed.After trying it many times, he was very tired and stopped trying to cut the flesh with his teeth. He sat near the dead animal and started thinking about how to cut his flesh. Suddenly, the jackal saw the lion coming towards him. Seeing the Lion, he said, “Majesty, I am guarding this dead elephant for you. Please eat it.” The lion replied, “I never eat animals which are killed by others.” The lion went away. The jackal was happy that he saved the elephant from the lion. He wanted to eat it all alone. He again started thinking about how to cut the flesh.The jackal was thinking and he heard the roaring of the tiger. He thought that the tiger would surely eat the elephant. So, the jackal said, “Please go away from here. I am guarding this for the king. The king lion has gone for a bath and he asked me to warn him when a tiger comes. The king wants to kill all the tigers of this jungle.” The tiger got very scared and quickly left the place.Then after some time, a leopard approached the jackal. The jackal was very hungry and knew that the leopard had sharp teeth. So, he cleverly said to the jackal, “Hey, Friend. I am seeing you after a long time. You look tired and hungry. Why do not you take a few bites from the dead elephant which I am guarding for the king lion? He has gone for a bath.” The leopard said, “Why would I eat the king’s meat. He would kill me if he saw me eating his food.” The jackal said, “I will warn you when he returns. Till then you can take a few bites.” The leopard agreed and proceeded near the elephant.The leopard started to bite the elephant but as the skin was hard it took time. As soon as the leopard took off the skin, the jackal shouted, “Beware, the lion is coming.” Hearing this, the leopard quickly left the place. The jackal laughed out loud and sat near the elephant and ate all the flesh alone. Moral:Wisdom makes victory.

The Clever Jackal

Once upon a time, there lived a lion in a dense forest. He was very strong and powerful. He had immense strength and was the king of the jungle. The only problem he had in his life was the cocking of the rooster. He was terrified and scared by the cocking of the rooster. He felt very bad that he was afraid of a small creature like a rooster. He cried and felt very bad about his fear.One day, he saw an elephant doing something with his ears. The huge, scary elephant was flapping his ears continuously in anxiety. The lion asked, “What are you doing elephant? Why are you scared?” the elephant replied, “I am scared of the black mosquito. If he enters my ear, I will go mad in pain.”The lion after meeting the elephant thought, “If a huge, giant animal like an elephant can be scared of a small mosquito then it is fine to have some fears. I should not feel bad about my fears.” He understood that even the strongest creatures have some weak points. He gained his self-confidence and decided not to let fear come in his way again. He had many things to do after all he was the King of the jungle. Moral:At some point in life, everyone has their weak points. One should overcome their weakness and look forward to the best things in life.
