In a kingdom, a king was very fond of eating meat of deer. He had in fact kept a herd of deer in his garden where he would feed them and ultimately eat them.However, the eldest deer was spared for the time being as she was going to have a baby. She had requested the king that after her baby was born she would become the King's next meal.As this was agreed upon, it was now the turn of the next deer to serve the king but this deer was really scared. So, the deer with the baby decided to go instead as she could not see another baby in tears.When the king saw the pregnant deer, he asked, “Why are you here instead of the younger deer?” To which she said, “The younger one is too scared and I feel that to save my baby's life, I cannot take someone else's baby's life.”On hearing this, the king felt ashamed of himself. He not only spared the deer's life but decided to stop eating meat altogether.Moral- Kindness begets kindness.

The kind Deer

It was not that Min had a big family. No, her family only included her mother, her father and herself. There was no need for a bigger house but Min always wanted a bigger house like all of her friends had.Her own house was pretty sufficient to meet her family’s needs but Min always just wanted to show off in front of her friends and have a bigger house. Sheconstantly whined about this to her parents and one day her wish came true when her mother got a promotion.Soon they moved to a house that had a huge garden, a treehouse and a lovely pink room for her. She was ecstatic.However soon after, despite all the luxury of the new house, it did not feel the same. She often found herself missing her old bedroom, her doodles on the walls of her old house, her mother’s cooking in the tiny kitchen.Now due to work, her parents were very busy and she did not get enough time with them.One day Min’s mother came home to see her crying and hurriedly went to calm her child. “What is wrong?” She calmly asked her little girl.Min sobbed, “Everything here is so new and I miss the old house. You and father are rarely home on time.” Her mother apologised for her absence and promised to make up for it.That weekend, Min planted saplings in the garden with her parents, decorated the treehouse, painted the walls of her room and baked cookies.Slowly, she came to love the new house just as much as she grew familiar with it and realised that it was never the amount of rooms in a house, the luxuries or the largeness of the house that mattered but the memories made and the love shared. Moral:Home is where the heart it. We soon realise that materialistic gains hardly matter, what does matter is the memories and love that we grow.

Min’s house

Timmy and his parents move to a new house. This new house has white picket fences, flowerbeds and a giant backyard. It is away from the noisy, crowded city so Timmy’s parents love it. Timmy’s room is very big and all of his toys fit in properly, so Timmy loves his new house too.But the one thing that Timmy is the most excited about is the park near his house. The community park is just around the corner so Timmy can go to the park and play whenever he wants to.The park in his new neighbourhood is also very big. It has many different types of slides.So as soon as they are settled in, Timmy asks his mother to take him to the park. “Mum! Please, can we go to the park now?”As Timmy asks this for the hundredth time in the day, Timmy’s mother agrees.She helps a restless Timmy put on his shoes and his coat and takes him to the park.The park is indeed very big. Timmy goes down the slides again and again “Yayyyyyyy” he says as he slides down with his eyes closed and a giant smile on his face.Then he runs to the swings. He asks his mother to push him further and further up. Looking up at the sky, he laughs and pretends that he can fly with the birds.After that his mother asks him to take a little break. As his mother sits on a park bench, Timmy makes new friends. They are all his age and will be his future school mates.With them, he goes round and round on the merry go round. All the kids take turns pushing the ride around. They laugh and laugh even as they get tired.In the end, they make pairs to go on the seesaw. Timmy falls of the see saw twice and gets mud in mouth. Along with his new friends, he laughs even as he scrapes his knee.Finally, Timmy’s mother calls him so that they can go home. Timmy is so tired but also very happy. He goes home and cleans himself up as a warm dinner awaits him. He tells his father about his very eventful day and then dreams about going to the park again.

In a little yellow house, on a hill, in a small town, lived a big black dog. The big black dog loved to bounce. He had everything he could ever need but yet the black dog was unhappy.&nbsp;His human worked most of the day and so they could only play late in the afternoon.In the big house next door lived a little girl and her two spotty dogs. One morning when black dog’s human left for work, he heard the little girl laughing.&nbsp;“It would be fun to have someone to play with”, the black dog thought.So he started to bounce. He bounced..and bounced..and bounced..until he bounced so high that he landed in the little girl’s garden.At first, the black dog had loads of fun. But then the little girl started pulling his tail and twisting his ears. “This is no fun!”, black dog yelped. So he bounced..and..bounced..and bounced..until he bounced so high that he landed in his own garden.In the big house on the other side lived an old lady with her little yellow dog. “I am sure she won’t pull my tail and twist my ears. It would be great to play with her.”, thought the black dog. So he started to bounce. He bounced..and bounced..and bounced..until he bounced so high that he landed in the old lady’s garden.At first the lady scratched behind his ears and rubbed his tummy. But after a while, the old lady sat down in her rocking chair and black dog got really bored. So he started to bounce. He bounced..and bounced..and bounced..until he bounced so high that he landed in his own garden again.When black dog’s human came home, she didn’t pull his tail or sit in a chair scratching his ears. They played his favourite game and she told him how much she’d missed him all day long.“I love her and she loves me. I am a lucky dog after all.”, sighed the black dog happily, as they curled up on the couch together. Moral:The black dog thinks he can have fun at someone else’s house until he realises that his own house is the perfect place for him. Always be grateful for what you have rather than looking around for happiness at other places.
