Please help me.”But, the villagers assumed that he was pulling a silly prank again and did not come to his rescue. Midas helped the Satyr and asked for his wish to be granted in return.The Satyr agreed and Midas wished for everything he touched to be turned to gold. His wish was granted.Extremely excited, Midas went home to his wife and daughter touching pebbles, rocks, and plants on the way, which turned into gold.As his daughter hugged him, she turned into a golden statue.Having learnt his lesson, Midas begged the Satyr to reverse the spell who granted that everything would go back to their original state.Moral of the story: Stay content and grateful for what you have. Greed will not get you anywhere. <h3>3. He suspected that one of his servants had robbed him.On hearing this, Birbal thought of a clever plan and summoned the merchant’s servants.He gave each servant a stick of the same length. He told them that the thief’s stick would grow two inches by the next day.The next day, Birbal summoned the servants again. He noticed that a servant’s stick was two inches shorter than the others.He knew who the thief was.The foolish thief had cut the stick shorter by two inches as he thought it would grow two inches. Thus, proving his guilt.Moral of the story: Truth and justice will always prevail. <h3>4. Suddenly, two frogs in the group accidentally fell into a deep pit.The other frogs worried about their friends in the pit.Seeing how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that there was no way they could escape the deep pit and that there was no point in trying.They continued to constantly discourage them as the two frogs tried to jump out of the pit. But keep falling back.Soon, one of the two frogs started to believe the other frogs — that they’ll never be able to escape the pit and eventually died after giving up.The other frog keeps trying and eventually jumps so high that he escapes the pit. The other frogs were shocked at this and wondered how he did it.The difference was that the second frog was deaf and couldn’t hear the discouragement of the group. He simply thought they were cheering him on!Moral of the story: People’s opinion of you will affect you, only if you believe it to be so. It’s better to believe in yourself. <h3>5. It is important to focus on the process of achieving success and not just success alone. <h3>6. The Goose with the Golden Eggs

There once lived three great friends- a pair of geese and a tortoise. Once summer, the scorching sun rays dried up their lake, and they decided to leave and look for a new lake.But the tortoise could not fly, so, the geese thought of an idea, where the tortoise would have to bite on to a stick, which would be carried by the two geese. The only condition was that the tortoise should not open its mouth, or it would meet a terrible fate.Soon, the geese rose into the sky, with the tortoise holding firmly onto the stick. “Remember! No talking!” said the geese to the tortoise. On witnessing this, animals on the ground started laughing at the unusual sight.“A flying tortoise!” they shouted. Unable to control his anxiety, the tortoise spoke out. “What’re you all laughing about? Oh no! I’m falling!” screamed the helpless tortoise.And so, the poor tortoise came crashing to the ground, only to be saved from death by her thick shell. “If only I would’ve kept my mouth shut, I would be in a new lake with my friends,” thought the tortoise, as she slowly began her journey to go find her friends. Once upon a time there was a generous goose who had beautiful golden feathers. The goose lived in a big pond of clear water. Not very far away from this pond, there lived a poor woman. She had two daughters and despite working very hard all day long, she could not earn enough money for her family. The goose could see that the woman and her daughters were leading a very tough life. So, one day, the goose said to himself, “If I give one of my golden feathers to the poor woman every day, she can sell it and live comfortably with her daughters. Helping someone in need is a noble job, so I must lend a hand to solve their problems.” Next day, the goose went to meet the poor woman. Seeing the goose, the woman said, “Why have you come here? We have nothing to give you.”“But I have something to give you.” said the goose. “Look at my feathers, I am no ordinary goose. I will give you one of my golden feathers every day. If you sell them in the market, you will get a good amount of money and then you can start living an easy life with your daughters.”The woman’s happiness knew no bounds and she thought that the goose was some angel sent by the deities above. From that day onwards, the goose gave one of his feathers every day to the woman and her daughters. The woman sold the lovely feathers of the goose and got enough money in return to keep herself and her daughters in comfort.One day greed overpowered the woman and she said to her daughters, “We must not trust this goose blindly. What if he flies away one day and never comes back? Then we would become poor once again. Let us pluck all his feathers when he will come to visit us the next time.” The daughters refused to be a part of their mother’s diabolical plan.The woman was determined to execute her plan. The next time when the golden goose came, she nabbed him by the neck and pulled out all of his feathers. As soon as the feathers got detached from the goose’s body, they mysteriously turned white, just like ordinary feathers. The golden goose cried out in anguish, “You foolish woman! Look what you have done! If someone plucks the feathers of a golden goose without his wish, they turn white and no longer remain of any value.” The greedy woman was very ashamed of herself and repented what she had done. As time went on, the feathers of the goose grew again. He then flew away to a distant land and never came back. Moral:Something that does not belong to you is not yours to take.
