water for my child
There is no specific rule about giving water to the baby. But it’s advisable to give it after 4 months only because water quenches thirst very easily. This will result in less intake of milk by your child. Parents do not need to worry whether the child will remain thirsty without water child as milk contains about 60-70% of water which easily fulfils the thirst. Giving water at an early age may also have the risk of infection to the baby. When your child starts having liquid food like fruit juices, vegetable soup or moong water; these liquids quench your child’s thirst as well and hence additional water is not required. Do not worry about water in your child's body as long as your child urinates at least 6-7 times a day.
