Once, a farmer had two big and strong oxen by the names of Big Red and Little Red on his farm. He also owned a little pig that used to live with the oxen. The oxen used to work very hard in the farmer’s field. The pig did nothing and just idled around.One day, the farmer fixed his daughter’s wedding. He ordered his men to fatten the pig for the wedding feast. And since that day, the farmer’s men started feeding a rich diet to the pig.Seeing this, Little Red said to Big Red, “Brother, just look at the good fortune of this lazy pig! He is getting to eat all the delicious dishes without doing anything. Despite working so hard in the fields, we get to eat only some straws and grass.”Big Red replied, “Dear brother, do not envy the pig. He is eating the food of death. He is being fattened up for the wedding feast. He would soon be slaughtered by the farmer. It is better to eat dry grass and straws and live long rather than have a rich feast and get killed.” Moral:Grass is always greener on the other side. The ox thought it had a worse situation than the pig but in reality, it was quite the opposite. We always seem to think that others are in a better place than us rather than being thankful for what we already have.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the former Prime Minister of India. He had served as the prime minister for three terms. The term was not for consecutive years. In fact, for the first time, he was the Prime Minister only for 13 days. Even in the next term, he could not serve for the whole tenure. But for the third time, he served for the full term i.e. 1999 to 2004. He was the first person to serve as the Prime Minister without being a member of the Indian National Congress.He was born to a middle-class family in Gwalior on 25th December 1924. His father, Krishna Vajpayee was a school teacher and a poet. His mother, Krishna Devi was a housewife. He completed his schooling from Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Gwalior. He graduated from Victoria College and completed his masters from DAV College, Kanpur. He studied M.A. in Political Science.Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the first Swayam-Sewak to become the prime minister of India and the first non-Congress Prime Minister to complete a full term in office. His long and winding political career was replete with ups and downs, spanning more than five decades in public life. His oratory skills were also appreciated by everyone. His famous speech at Lok Sabha in 1996 during his 13-day BJP government rule was his most riveting speech.

Once upon a time there was a little prince who was used to having everything he wanted. He was so spoiled that he wouldn’t let anybody have a new toy if he didn’t have it first. So, if any child in the land wanted a new toy, they had to buy two and give one to the prince.One day a mysterious toy maker, who invented the most wonderful toys, came to the land. The prince liked his toys so much that he invited him to spend an entire year in the castle, promising him great wealth if he made him a new toy every day. The toy maker set just one condition:“My toys are very special and need an owner who will play with them” he said. “Will you be able to devote a little time to each one every day?”“Of course, I will” the little prince replied impatiently. “I’d love to.”From then on, every morning the prince received a new toy. Every day it seemed that there could never be a better toy and every day the toy maker delivered a toy better than the previous ones. The prince appeared very happy.But the toy collection kept growing and, after a few weeks had passed, there were simply too many toys to play with all of them every day. So, one day the prince put a few toys to one side, hoping that the toy maker wouldn’t notice. However, when it was night time and the prince was ready to go to bed the toys that had been put away lined up in front of him and, one by one, demanded their daily playtime. The little prince couldn’t get to sleep until well past midnight because he had to play with every single toy.Next day, tired after all his efforts, the prince slept very late. In the little time left of the day, he had to get to know a new toy and then play with all the others too. Once again, he finished very late and was so tired he could hardly stop yawning.From then on, every day was a little bit worse than the one before. The same amount of time but with one extra toy to play with. The prince was so exhausted and sleepy, he barely had the time to enjoy playing. To make matters worse, the toys were getting more and more angry because the time he spent playing with them was becoming shorter and shorter.Within a few weeks later, he only had time to go from one toy to another, eating as he played, talking as he played, bathing as he played and even sleeping as he played. He was constantly changing toys, just like a terrible nightmare. Until one day, as he was looking out of his window, he saw some children playing with a stone next to the castle.“Hmmmm, I have an idea!” he said, and he sent for the children. They turned up gloomily, wondering whether he would force them to hand over their stone, just as he had done many times before with other toys. But the prince didn’t want the stone. Surprisingly, he only wanted them to play with him and share his toys. When they’d finished playing the prince let them take home the toys they liked the most.The idea had worked. The prince could enjoy himself without having too many toys to play with. Even better, he had new friends. From then on, he did the same thing every day and invited more children to the castle to share his toys. When it was time for the toy maker to leave, the 365 fantastic toys he had made had all been shared out and the palace had turned into the best playroom in the kingdom. Morals:The joy of everything is in sharing and togetherness.

The Mughal Emperor Akbar loved going out on hunting expeditions. One day, he went to such expedition with some of his courtiers. They lost their way and came to a junction of three roads.On seeing the road, Akbar was happy that now he could reach his destination, Agra through one of these roads. But the problem was none of them knew which of the road led to Agra. They all were wondering which road they should take.Just then, they saw a young man passing nearby. Akbar after seeing the man immediately called him and said, “Hey young man, could you tell us which road goes to Agra?”.Hearing the question, the young man smiled and said, “Sir, none of these roads go to Agra.”Akbar said, “What do you mean?”. The young man smiled and said, “Sir, People travel and not roads. Do they?”.The emperor was surprised on hearing the clever reply. He laughed and said, “You are right. What is your name?”“My name is Mahesh Das. But who are you and what is your name?” said the young man.Akbar replied, “I am Akbar, the Mughal Emperor. You are really clever. We need fearless and smart people like you in my court.” Akbar was impressed by the young man so he took off his ring and gave it to the young man. He said, “If you want to be a part of my court then come to meet me with this ring, I will recognize you.” Akbar then said, “Now tell us which road will lead us to Agra.” Mahesh Das point towards the road and the king headed on that road with his courtiers. This is how Akbar met the future Birbal.

Once, a prince went on a hunting spree in a dense forest. He wandered the whole day in search of prey but did not come across a single animal, big or small that he could kill. By the evening he got very tired and thus, sat under a tree to take some rest. Just then, he saw a huge tiger coming out of the bushes and moving forward towards him. The prince was petrified and in order to save his life, he climbed up the nearest tree. When he reached the top of the tree, he saw a huge bear sitting on one of the branches. He started to tremble with fear as he thought that he would now surely be killed by either of the two wild animals. The bear calmed down the prince and said, “Don’t worry, my dear prince. This tree is my house and thus, you are my guest. I never harm my guests.” The prince believed in what the bear said and stopped panicking. The tiger also sat down under the tree and kept waiting for the prince to come down. Soon the sun set and there was darkness everywhere. The prince was terribly tired and, he fell fast asleep on the branch. When the tiger saw the sleeping prince, he said to the bear, “Do not give shelter to this prince. Human beings are our enemies. Push him down on the ground and let me make him my meal.”“No, I will never do such an evil thing.” said the bear. “Moreover, he is my guest,” the bear added.In the morning, when the prince woke up, he saw the bear sleeping beside him. The cunning tiger said to the prince, “Don’t trust this wicked bear! He is being nice to you only till the time I am sitting here. The moment I leave, he will kill you. So, I would advise you to push this bear down before me. I will eat him and let you go.”The selfish prince thought that it was not a bad idea to throw the bear down and save his life. So, he pushed the unsuspecting bear off the branch. The bear woke up with a jerk and caught hold of another branch and saved his life somehow. He cursed the prince for his selfishness and said, “It was indeed a mistake on my part to place my trust in a selfish human being like you.” Moral:Selfish people are only concerned about themselves. Even if someone is being good to them, they suspect something wrong and end up losing everyone in their lives.

You will see in the existence, anything that is vast and beyond your perception generally tends to be blue, whether it is the ocean or the sky. Anything which is larger than your perception tends to be blue because blue is the basis of all-inclusiveness.Krishna being blue-bodied need not necessarily mean his skin color was blue. Maybe he was dark-skinned, but people who were aware saw the blueness of his energy, so they described him as blue. There are many disputes about who Krishna is and what he is but his all-inclusiveness is one thing that no one can deny. So the theme of blue remained common, and in every corner of the country, Krishna is seen as blue.

Once there lived a Peacock in a forest. He was very vain. He always boasted about his beautiful looks. Every day he would go to the bank of a river. He would stand there and admire his own reflection in the water.He would say, "Just look at my tail! Look at the colours in my feathers! Look at ME! I must be the most beautiful bird in the world." One day the peacock saw a crane on the bank. He looked at it and turned his face away. Then he rudely said to the crane, "What a colourless bird you are! Your feathers look so plain and dull."The crane said, "Your feathers are surely beautiful and mine are not. But so what? With your feathers you cannot fly very high, while my feathers can carry me high up in the sky." Moral:Usefulness is better than mere beauty.

PEACOCK AND THE CRANE

This incident took place on April 13, 1919, at Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, Punjab, popularly known as the Amritsar Massacre. It marks one of the twentieth century's biggest horrific political crimes committed by the British It is named after the famous Jallianwala Bagh, a public garden covering an area of 7 acres, with walls on all sides.On April 13, 1919, at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab, thousands of people were assembled. For the Sikhs, this day marks the start of New Year and is often observed in Punjab as a Baisakhi festival. Colonel Reginald Dyer announced on Baisakhi's morning the implementation of a curfew throughout Amritsar and a ban on all processions.Dyer provided confidential information about the conference at Jallianwala Bagh at around 12:40 p.m., which could contribute to riots and protests. By midday, thousands of people, including devotees at Harmandir Sahib gathered at the Jallianwala Bagh.Jallianwala Bagh was lined with up to 10 inches of walls in all directions. It has small doors, most of which have been secured. The place was filled with devotees, vendors, farmers, and merchants who visited Amritsar to celebrate the festival. Sensing the number of people present there and the secret meeting that was going to take place at 4:30 PM, General Dyer arrived there with armed troops.Under Dyer's instructions, there was ruthlessly shooting on the mass. At the moment of the shooting, there were about 25,000 people present there. Several tried to escape while others preferred to leap into the well-built isolation around Jallianwala Bagh's property.Until now, the number of deaths caused by the shooting had been a controversial issue. While the British's official inquiry recorded 379 deaths Congress estimated the death toll to be around 1,000. About 120 dead bodies have also been recovered from the well.Keeping in mind the significance of this place in the history of India, a trust was founded in 1920 to build a memorial site at Jallianwala Bagh. Today, Jallianwala Bagh is a public garden built in memory of the innocent people who died in the massacre.
