According to the Gospel of Luke, as Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary. Both of these householders treated the Lord with respect and hospitality. When Jesus and His disciples were at the home of Mary and Martha, who opened their doors to Him, Martha ran about preparing food and trying to serve everyone. Mary chose to sit and listen to what Jesus had to say. Martha became irritated with Mary and asked Jesus to tell Mary to come and help her. Jesus instead said “Martha, you worry and become upset about too many things. Mary has chosen to do the right thing.” Moral:Do not let the worries of the world get in the way of your relationship with Jesus.

When Mary Magdalene and two others went to anoint Jesus’ body with spices, they found that the stone to the tomb had been rolled over. When they went into the tomb, there was a young man in a white robe. He told them, “If you are looking for Jesus Christ who was crucified, He has risen from the dead!” The women ran away, but were too afraid to say anything to anybody. Jesus then appeared to some of His other followers. Thomas, also called Didymus (twin), was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus, was not present, and so he refused to believe until he was able to put his finger in Jesus’ wounds. Jesus appeared to Thomas and allowed him to do just that. Thomas then believed that Jesus had risen, but Jesus said: “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Moral:God blesses those who have faith without needing to see tangible proof.

One day, Jesus got the news that his friends brother Lazarus was on his death-bed. The news filled Jesus with sadness for he knew how much his friends loved their brother. But he did not rush to meet the dying man for he knew that God had plans for him.Soon, Lazarus died. Jesus went to meet his friends four days after Lazarus death. But before Jesus could reach their home, he met Martha. She was angry because she felt that Jesus had let them down. She had faith that if Jesus had come on time, her brother could have been saved. So Jesus said to her ìI am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who lives and believes in me, even though they are dead, yet shall they live.îSaying this, Jesus asked Martha to lead him to Lazarus grave. Once there, he said, ìLazarus, come forth.î And with those short three words, he breathed back life into Lazarus body!Finally, the world could see that God had sent his son to save them!&nbsp; Moral:God has a plan for our lives.

The bible gives the messages God has desired for us to understand. Following is a story from “The Bible”. Once upon a time, there lived three wise kings far away in the east. The three kings were King Gasper, Melchior, and King Balthazar. One day, they saw a beautiful star shining brightly over Bethlehem. They knew it was a sign of God. They decided to follow the star. They followed God’s direction and to search for the King of Jews. The kings travelled all their way on the camel over mountains, deserts and over white open plains. They followed the star to find the child who would become the king of Jews. They believed that the star was God’s sign to give them direction.The wise men reached Bethlehem and the star disappeared. They were outside the palace of King Herod. They went to King Herod to ask about the child that was born. King Herod was afraid he would lose his kingdom so he said, “Tell me when you find this child so that I can also honour him.” The wise men were disappointed and did not know where to find the child. They again saw the star in the sky and started following it. They kept following the star and the star disappeared when they reached their destination. The wise men were overwhelmed. They were outside the house. They went inside and saw a little child in Mary’s lap. The child was born to Mary and Joseph. The wise men knew that the child was Jesus, son of God so they knelt down in front of him. They came with valuable gifts for their Lord. They offered God with precious gold and valuable gifts. When they left the house, they did not go back to King Herod because they were warned in their dream not to do that. They travelled back to their homes. One night, Joseph, the father of the child saw an angel in his dream. The angel warned him in the dream, “Hurry to Egypt and save the child. King Herod wants to kill the child and the Lord needs to be saved.”So, Joseph and Mary immediately left for Egypt along with Jesus. After many years, when King Herod died, the angel again came to Joseph’s dream and said, “You can go back to Bethlehem with Jesus, it is safe now.” Soon, they went back to Bethlehem and lived there happily. That is the place where Jesus grew up.Moral:Have faith that God always plans things for the greater good.

Afraid for their son's life, the couple returned to Jerusalem and searched for Jesus. It took them three days before they found the young Jesus at the temple. He was sitting there calmly, learning from the teachers.The worried parents scolded Jesus lovingly and said, ìWhere were you son? We were looking all over for you.Hearing this, Jesus replied, ìWhy were you worried? Didn't you know I would be at my father's temple? Moral:God is our father.
