Once, there was a young cloud named ‘Cloudy’. He was very mischievous and used to cause troubles for everyone. One day, Cloudy took a lot of water from the old sea. The old sea felt that it was important to give him a lesson. So, he said, “Please do not cause trouble to people and give water to people who are craving for it. Do not disappoint them. Your real purpose is to satisfy the thirst.”Cloudy ignored the sea and drifted away. He continued causing trouble for everyone. He floated in the sky and dropped wherever he wanted. The people of the village waited for the cloud to shower rain but he did not. He ignored the thirst of the villagers and drifted away arrogantly.Then the Cloudy went to a filed. The farmers saw the cloud and were very happy. They thought the cloud will surely shower rain. But the cloud thought, “I am not their servant and I don’t care about their crops.” Cloudy made a rude face and moved on. Seeing the cloud moving away, the farmers were very sad and they blamed the wind for it.The Wind felt very bad and scolded Cloudy. He said, “Cloudy, I am being blamed for your mistakes. Why you are not showering the rain? You are disappointing everyone.” Cloudy rudely said, “Mind your own business, Wind. I will do whatever I want.” The Wind then said, “Do not be so arrogant, Cloudy. People will be grateful if you shower rain in a place where it is needed.” With this Wind went away, hoping Cloudy would understand.But Cloudy did not pay much attention to the Wind and continued doing what he wanted. He found an old potter who was making mud pots. He poured rain all over him. All the pots made by the potter were damaged and all his efforts were wasted. Cloudy enjoyed seeing the old potter cry. Wind noticed this and felt very bad for the potter. Cloudy enjoyed it and decided to do more such things. He showered rain above a lawn where a marriage reception was being held. The cloud enjoyed seeing the people in trouble. He then drifted ahead looking for more places to cause trouble.The wind decided to do something. He went to his old friend, Mountain and asked for help. They made a plan. When the Cloudy was showering rain above a clothesline full of dry clothes, the wind said, “Cloudy cloud, I have a special request. I hope you will listen.” Cloudy stopped and turned around and asked arrogantly, “What is it?”The wind said, “Please do not go to the Tall Mountain. He has a high fever and a bad cold. Do not make him wet.” The Cloudy did exactly what wind thought he would do. Cloudy drifted towards the tall mountain and decided to shower raindrops above him. Cloudy did not know how high and strong the tall mountain was. He rushed towards the tall mountain’s peak. He collided with the mountain badly. All the water Cloudy had splashed out in the form of heavy rain. He began to break into small pieces. Cloudy cried and asked for help. He said, “I do not want to disappear. Please, help me.”“This is what happens to those who cause trouble and harm to others”, said the mountain. Cloudy cloud realized its mistake and said, “I wish I had been a good cloud.” He then disappeared completely. Moral:Arrogance diminishes wisdom and possible opportunities for growth.

A river was very tired of her work. She had to constantly move around and could never catch a break. She was very envious of the mountain who always stayed at one single place. The mountain never had to move or work hard, unlike the river.The river was doped with pollution, used by fish and humans and other animals. They never let her rest. And after she was done flowing, she had to give herself to the sea. How was that fair to her when the mountain always slept?She often mocked the mountain whenever she passed by it. She thought that the mountain deserved to know that he was living such an easy life when she had to work so hard.Everytime the river was mean to him, the mountain just sighed. She never understood his work and there was no point in explaining.The river got to travel to new places, meet new people, make new friends while he just had to stay still at one place and bear the cold winds from the north. The river was worshipped by humans whereas the mountain could only silently weep as the trees that grew on him were cut down.He just wished that the river was grateful of her life instead of insulting him all the time.The mountain did not pay much heed to the river’s words and never answered back. One particular winter, the Northern winds were stronger than ever before. The mountain was shivering, he felt like he was dying. It was too cold.But he had to stay strong because he was the only one between the human population and the cold winds that would freeze them.The mountain suffered the cold for them and protected them. The river saw this and she was embarrassed for the way she had treated him. She apologised and they soon became friends. Moral:We must not judge others’ lives and their problems, especially when we don’t know anything about it.

But, then, you are not as small as I am.” “Big size has big advantages,” said the mountain, “I can stop the clouds sailing across the sky.”“So you can,” agreed the mouse. “But you can’t stop me from making big holes in your very foundation, can you?”The tiny mouse outwitted the mighty mountain. One day, the river thought to herself, “Do, I need to keep flowing all my life? Why can’t I stop and rest for a little while?” She was a bit upset and thought to discuss it with the mountain. She went to the mountain and shared her thoughts and asked for advice.After hearing her thoughts, the mountain just laughed and said, “Look at me! I am standing here in the same place for ages!” To which the river replied, “You are firm and fixed in one place. How can you get tired? Look at me, I have to move all the time. I don’t get to rest even for a single minute”.“That is how you see it, but I get tired of standing here”, said the Mountain. He further added, “Every day, I see the same trees and the same patch of sky. Sometimes, I wish only I could run like a river. I would visit new forests and villages. I would water their fields, give life, and be deeply loved by all.”The river was shocked to hear the mountain’s reply. She always thought that his life was perfect. The river said, “That is so strange! Your life is so peaceful and comfortable, yet you feel this way!” To which the mountain replied, “You do not get it, my sister! The river is worshipped by everyone.” He added, “You flow for the sake of others. You give away so much, you offer whatever remains to the sea.”The river realised her worth and said with great enthusiasm, “You are right, my brother! The true purpose of my life is to give life to others. Thank you for your kind wisdom. She gushed away with a loud gurgle feeling very happy and her newfound positive energy. Moral:Stay happy with whatever you have. Everyone has a different purpose in their lives.

But I am not the most powerful. The King of Rats is more powerful than I am. He and his fellowmen nibble at my sides and make burrows and tunnels inside my rocky body.”So the Mother Rat went to the King of Rats and said, “Sir, will you please marry my charming daughter and make her your wife?”The King of Rats said, “Yes, I will.” And so Miss Rat was married to the King of Rats with great pomp and splendor.
