Midas helped the Satyr and asked for his wish to be granted in return.The Satyr agreed and Midas wished for everything he touched to be turned to gold. His wish was granted.Extremely excited, Midas went home to his wife and daughter touching pebbles, rocks, and plants on the way, which turned into gold.As his daughter hugged him, she turned into a golden statue.Having learnt his lesson, Midas begged the Satyr to reverse the spell who granted that everything would go back to their original state.Moral of the story: Stay content and grateful for what you have. He told them that the thief’s stick would grow two inches by the next day.The next day, Birbal summoned the servants again. He noticed that a servant’s stick was two inches shorter than the others.He knew who the thief was.The foolish thief had cut the stick shorter by two inches as he thought it would grow two inches. Thus, proving his guilt.Moral of the story: Truth and justice will always prevail. <h3>4. But keep falling back.Soon, one of the two frogs started to believe the other frogs — that they’ll never be able to escape the pit and eventually died after giving up.The other frog keeps trying and eventually jumps so high that he escapes the pit. The other frogs were shocked at this and wondered how he did it.The difference was that the second frog was deaf and couldn’t hear the discouragement of the group. However, he didn’t get good enough gifts and ended up lashing out at his friends and spent the rest of his day visibly upset. His parents pulled him to the side and his mother told him, “Joy, I am angry at you.” Joy frowned, “Why?” “Because you are not wearing a white t-shirt.” Joy frowned further. This was no reason to be angry so he asked again, “But why?” “I expected you to wear a white t-shirt and you are not wearing one. So I am angry at you.” “But Ma, that is no reason to be mad at someone. I did not know what you wanted.” “Exactly, Joy, just like your friends did not know what you wanted. You need to be thoughtful of people’s feelings and understand their choices. They got you gifts that they thought you needed, so what if it did not turn out to be what you liked.” That was how Joy realised he could not have tantrums because he expected something and did not get what he wanted. I help you hold onto things. You have opposable thumbs which give you a better grip. Without me, you won’t be able to do your daily tasks so easily.”Her feet said, “I help you stand, your toes give you grip to the ground so that you can move around easily.”Her eyes said, “I help you see the world. Without me you would not be able to see anything around you.” Her ears said, “I help you listen to sounds and your brain identifies those sounds.”Her nose said, “ You use me so often to smell your food. I help you tell if it is edible or not.” Her mouth followed by saying, “I help you speak and express your thoughts. You can laugh or ask for health using me. You also eat your food through me.”Her heart also explained its task and said, “I pump blood in your body Tanya. Without me you would not have blood.” Lastly her brain said, “I help you understand things and make decisions. Every part of your body has different tasks that it has to fulfill so that you can live your life the way you want to. We help you so much but we are also very fragile. We need you to protect us and take care of us so that we can keep doing our duties. Can you do that Tanya?”Hearing all these, Tanya thought to herself, “If my body can do so much for me, I can at least be responsible about what I eat and take care of all the body parts and organs.”She smiled at her body and since that day she ate healthily and exercised to keep her organs in good shape. One hot day, an ant was searching for some water. After walking around for some time, she came to a spring. To reach the spring, she had to climb up a blade of grass. While making her way up, she slipped and fell into the water.She could have drowned if a dove up a nearby tree had not seen her. Seeing that the ant was in trouble, the dove quickly plucked a leaf and dropped it into the water near the struggling ant. The ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up onto it. Soon, the leaf drifted to dry ground, and the ant jumped out. She was safe at last.Just at that time, a hunter nearby was about to throw his net over the dove, hoping to trap it.Guessing what he was about to do, the ant quickly bit him on the heel. Feeling the pain, the hunter dropped his net. The dove was quick to fly away to safety. Moral:One good turn begets another.

When Mary Magdalene and two others went to anoint Jesus’ body with spices, they found that the stone to the tomb had been rolled over. When they went into the tomb, there was a young man in a white robe. He told them, “If you are looking for Jesus Christ who was crucified, He has risen from the dead!” The women ran away, but were too afraid to say anything to anybody. Jesus then appeared to some of His other followers. Thomas, also called Didymus (twin), was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus, was not present, and so he refused to believe until he was able to put his finger in Jesus’ wounds. Jesus appeared to Thomas and allowed him to do just that. Thomas then believed that Jesus had risen, but Jesus said: “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Moral:God blesses those who have faith without needing to see tangible proof.

One day, a rich man wanted to get an innocent man named Hasan, punished for some grudge that he held against him. He accused him of stealing his wife’s valuable necklace, and reported this theft in the Emperor’s court.Emperor Akbar asked the man, “Why do you think that Hasan has stolen the necklace from your place?” The rich man replied, “Your Majesty, I have myself seen him stealing the necklace!” Hasan said, “No Huzoor, I am innocent! I do not know anything about the necklace.”The rich man said, “Huzoor, if he is innocent, ask him to prove his innocence by holding a hot iron rod in his bare hands. If he is able to do so, then I will believe that he has not stolen my necklace, and he is speaking the truth.”The rich man also convinced the Emperor that if Hasan was telling the truth then the holy deities above would not let any harm come to him and it was the most ideal way to test the innocence of the accused person. The Emperor ordered Hasan to appear in his court the next day and do as directed by the rich man.Poor Hasan was at his wit’s end. He went to Raja Birbal for help. Birbal could understand that the man was telling the truth and suggested a clever idea to him.When he returned the next day, he said, “I am ready for the test. But the same thing should be applied to the rich man as well. If he is speaking the truth, then the red hot iron should not burn his hands also. So, first let him hold the hot iron rod in his hands, and then I will hold that iron in my bare hands.”Now, the rich man was speechless! He requested the Emperor Akbar to let him go and look for the necklace again in his house; maybe his wife had misplaced it somewhere in the house itself.Emperor Akbar ordered the rich man to give the necklace to Hasan as a punishment and praised Raja Birbal for his clever idea. Moral:Framing someone for a crime and lying does not end well.

People attend church services on Christmas day. The day is made colourful by decorations. People buy Christmas trees and decorate it with lights, flowers, garlands, stars, gifts, etc. People enjoy time with their family and friends on Christmas day. Santa Claus, a mythological figure who is believed to fulfil the wishes of the children is awaited on the night of December 24th. Children curiously wait for Santa Claus and their gifts. The main celebration of the festival starts on 24th December which is known as Christmas Eve. The celebrations continue till the New year. The festival spreads the message of Peace, Love, Harmony, and Brotherhood.&nbsp;

Krishna and Sudama were studying in the Sandipini ashram. Once the guru ordered them to go in the jungle to fetch some wood.Before leaving for the jungle, Guru’s wife gave some grams to Sudama. She said, “Sudama, these grams are for you and Krishna. It will help you both when you will feel hungry”. Sudama took the grams and left for the Jungle with Krishna.Krishna and Sudama worked really hard to fetch the wood. In the middle of the work, Sudama felt hungry. So, he grabbed some grams and ate them hiding from Krishna.The task was difficult and they both were tired and hungry at the end. Krishna asked Sudama if we had something to eat. Sudama denied. He kept the remaining grams for himself and ate it when Krishna was not looking. But Krishna knew that Sudama was hiding something.Sudama ate the share of Krishna too as he thought Krishna would never find out that he had grams. This particular incident had its own consequences.Sudama ate the share of Krishna and this is the reason that he had to spend his later life in poverty. It was later when Sudama offered rice made by his wife to Krishna that he was blessed with a palace and riches.Sudama spent most of his life in poverty for telling a lie and eating the share of Krishna’s food. Sudama was a friend of Krishna but wrongdoing would never bear anyone.

After a while, she was tired. She decided to take some rest. She saw a tiny house and decided to go inside. When she entered the house, she saw that everything was very small. But as she was very tired, she decided to take some rest. She laid down on the little bed and fell asleep.The princess was sleeping on the bed and after some time seven dwarves entered the tiny house. As they entered the house, they saw Snow-white on the bed and were surprised. The dwarfs said, “Why is a girl sleeping on our bed? What is she doing here?” The voice woke up the princess. She told everything to the dwarves. She told them about the witch queen. The dwarves allowed the princess to stay in their house. The princess soon became friends with the dwarves. She cooked food for them and they lived happily.The witch queen soon found out that the princess was still alive. She turned herself into an old lady and entered the house. The witch knocked on the door. Snow White opened the door and saw an old lady. The old lady gave her a delicious apple and asked her to taste it. Snow White took the bite of the apple. The apple was poisonedand as soon as she took a bite, she fell on the ground and never woke up. The little dwarves were very sad and decided to put her on the flower bed.One day, a prince saw Snow-White lying on a flower bed. He was awe-struck by her beauty and fell in love with her. He took her hand and kissed it. The moment, the prince kissed her, she woke up. The kiss had the power to break the witch’s magic.As soon as she woke up, she saw the prince. She was pleased to see the charming prince. She fell in love with him. The prince and Snow White then lived a happy life. The witch became mad and in anger, she broke her mirror and never heard the mirror talk again. Moral:Selfish desire is dangerous. Do not trust strangers.
