He told them that the thief’s stick would grow two inches by the next day.The next day, Birbal summoned the servants again. He noticed that a servant’s stick was two inches shorter than the others.He knew who the thief was.The foolish thief had cut the stick shorter by two inches as he thought it would grow two inches. Thus, proving his guilt.Moral of the story: Truth and justice will always prevail. <h3>4. The oxen used to work very hard in the farmer’s field. The pig did nothing and just idled around.One day, the farmer fixed his daughter’s wedding. He ordered his men to fatten the pig for the wedding feast. And since that day, the farmer’s men started feeding a rich diet to the pig.Seeing this, Little Red said to Big Red, “Brother, just look at the good fortune of this lazy pig! He is getting to eat all the delicious dishes without doing anything. Despite working so hard in the fields, we get to eat only some straws and grass.”Big Red replied, “Dear brother, do not envy the pig. He is eating the food of death. He is being fattened up for the wedding feast. He would soon be slaughtered by the farmer. It is better to eat dry grass and straws and live long rather than have a rich feast and get killed.” Moral:Grass is always greener on the other side. Once there lived a pig in a farm. His name was Henry. The pig was very passionate and ambitious. The biggest ambitious of the pig was to fly like a bird. He thought if birds can fly, he can fly too. He said to himself, “Birds can fly because they have wings but humans can also fly and they do not have wings. If humans can create artificial wings, I can also do it.”An idea stuck into Henry’s mind. He imagined himself flying like a bird. Henry started collecting bird’s feathers. He used to collect feathers dropped by any bird. Soon, he had enough feathers. He thought that the feathers would help him in flying in the sky like a bird. He then started preparing for the next step of his plan.One day, one of Henry’s friends Mousey saw him doing something secretly. Mousey saw henry applying glue to something. Mousey went to henry and asked him what was he up to. Henry said that he was doing a great invention and that he will fly just like a bird. The Mousey told henry that it was not possible, but henry did not listen to him and continued with his invention.Mousey told everyone about Henry’s invention and everyone gathered to see Henry flying up to the sky. Mousey shouted, “Henry, please do not do this. You will die, you fool! I will not let you do this, Henry, stop!”. Henry shouted, “Do not stop me Mousey, go away!” and pushed Mousey away. The poor Mousey fell on the ground.Henry began to fly with his feathers. He applied the utmost force to the feathers so that he can fly. But instead of going up, he was coming down. Henry was very scared. Henry now understood why Mousey was telling him not to do so. But it was late for Henry as he was already in the sky. Henry lost all his balance and fell on the ground with a bang.Henry lost his life because he fell on the ground miserably. Mousey also lost his life because Henry pushed him very hard. Both of them lost their lives. Henry lost his life because of his foolish wish and Mousey lost his life because of his foolish friend. Moral:If people don’t listen to good advice, let them find the hard way.

Once there lived a mother pig with her three piglets. Mrs Pig was very tired and said to her children, “Oh dear! I can’t do all this work anymore, I’m afraid you must leave home and make your own way in the world”.So the three little pigs set off. After walking for a while, they met a man carrying a bundle of straw. “Excuse me” said the first little pig politely “would you please sell me some of your straw so I can make a house?” The man readily agreed and the first little pig went off to find a good place to build his house.The other little pigs continued to walk along the road when they met a man carrying a bundle of sticks. “Excuse me” said the second little pig politely “would you please sell me some sticks so I can build a house?” The man readily agreed and the little pig said goodbye to his brother. He thought to himself, “I’m going to build myself a much bigger, better, stronger house” and kept on down the road until he met a man with a cart load of bricks.“Excuse me” the third little pig said politely as his mother had taught him “Please can you sell me some bricks so I can build a house?” “Of course” said the man “where would you like me to unload them?” The third little pig looked around and saw a nice patch of ground under a tree, “Over there please” he pointed.All of the three pigs set to work and up until nightfall, the houses of straws and sticks were ready but the house of bricks was only just beginning to rise above the ground.&nbsp;The first and second little pigs laughed and thought that their brother was really silly to work so hard when they had already finished.However, a few days later the brick house was completed and looked very smart with shiny windows, a neat little chimney and a shiny knocker on the door.After a few nights, soon after they had settled in, a wolf was out looking for food. By the light of the moon he spotted the first little pig’s house of straw.&nbsp;He went up to the door and called, “Little pig, little pig, let me come in.” “No, no, by the hair of my chinny chin chin” replied the little pig. “Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house.” said the wolf who was a big, bad, greedy sort of wolf.And he huffed, and he puffed and blew the house in. The little pig ran away as fast as his he could and went straight to the second little pig’s house to hide.The next night the wolf was even hungrier and he saw the house of sticks. He walked up to the door and called, “Little pig, little pig, let me come in.” “Oh no, not by the hair on my chinny chin chin” said the second little pig as the first little pig hid trembling under the stairs. “Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in” said the wolf.And he huffed, and he puffed and blew the house in. But the little pigs ran away as fast as they could and went to the third little pig’s house to hide.“What did I tell you?” said the third little pig “it’s important to build houses properly”. But he welcomed them in and they all settled down for the rest of the night.The following night the wolf was even hungrier and feeling bigger and badder than ever. Prowling around in hunger, he came to the third little pig’s house. He crept up to the door and called, “Little pig, little pig, let me come in.” “Oh no, not by the hair on my chinny chin chin” said the third little pig while the first and the second little pigs hid trembling under the stairs. “Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in” said the wolf.And he huffed, and he puffed and he blew but nothing happened.&nbsp;So he huffed and he puffed and he blew again, even harder, but still nothing happened. The brick house stood firm.The wolf growled, “I’m going to eat all of you” he growled “you just wait and see”. He prowled round the house trying to find a way in. The little pigs trembled when they saw his big eyes peering through the window. Then they heard a scrambling sound.“Quick, quick” said the third little pig “he’s climbing the tree, I think he’s going to come down the chimney”.The three little pigs got the biggest pan they had, and filled it full of water and put it on the fire to boil. They could hear the sound of the wolf climbing the tree and then walking along the roof.The little pigs held their breath.&nbsp;The wolf was coming down the chimney.&nbsp;Nearer and nearer he came until, with a huge splash, he landed in the pan of water. “Yoweeeee!” he screamed and shot back up the chimney thinking his tail was on fire. The last the three little pigs saw of the big bad wolf was him flying over the treetops clutching a very sore tail.So, the three little pigs lived happily together ever after in their very smart house of bricks. The boy ran down the hill rapidly and hit the wolf as hard as he could. The wolf rolled over and was knocked with the blow, while the boy ran off for home. The wolf was fooled. He then realized that why would anyone jump into his mouth with his own will. He went ahead to look for his dinner. Then, he saw a horse walking in a field, chewing the grass. The wolf went to the horse and said, “Mr. Horse, Mr. Horse, I am going to eat you!” The horse asked, “Who are you?”. “I am a wolf”, replied the wolf. The horse said, “You look like a dog.” The wolf denied and said, “I am not a dog, I am a wolf.” The horse then said, “If you think you are then it is fine. I am not very fat yet so you can start eating me from my tail meanwhile I will be eating some more grass.” The wolf excitedly went up to the horse from behind. As soon as he tried to jump on the horse from behind, the horse knocked him with his leg as hard as he could. The wolf rolled over, while the horse ran off. The wolf again thought, “Well, I was a fool. Who eats a horse from his tail?” He further saw a pig coming towards him. He went to the pig and said, “Mr. Pig, Mr. Pig, I am going to eat you.” The pig asked him the same question, “Who are you? I would like to know before you could eat me.” The wolf replied, “I am a Wolf and not a dog”. This time the wolf clarified before only that he was not a dog. So, the Pig said, “Okay, you sit down on my back. First I will give you a ride and then you can eat me.” The wolf sat down on the pig’s back. The pig carried him straight into the village. All the dogs in the village saw the wolf and rushed towards them and started teasing him. The dogs started laughing at him and made fun of him. The wolf felt very bad and he started crying and went back into the forest. The silly wolf was never seen again. Moral:﻿You do not need to prove yourself to anyone. Know your worth.
