The Sun and the Moon were best friends once upon a time. As they were always together there was no concept of the night. No one in the world knew anything about the night. They did not know anything about sleeping. The children played the whole day without feeling sleepy. One day, the Moon and the Sun were passing by and saw the ocean. The ocean was the most beautiful thing they had ever seen. The ocean enjoyed the Sun’s warmth and Moon’s beautiful face. She loved the moon more than the Sun. Whenever Moon was around, she created waves and tides in excitement. This made Sun very jealous.One afternoon, as the Ocean slept, the Sun did something terrible. He slowly lifted the Moon and threw him against the wall of the sky! Instead of breaking like glass, the Moon created millions of sparks that could not go out. He called the sparks “stars.”The Stars knew what the Sun had done to the Moon. The stars were very angry at the Sun and decided to attack the Sun. The stars formed an army and went on to attack the Sun. Before they could attack the Sun, the Ocean stopped them and asked, “Where are you going little stars?” The stars replied, “We are going to destroy the Sun!”The Ocean did not want either the Sun or Moon to be hurt or destroyed in a fight. She loved them both. So, she made a quick plan. She told the stars she had an idea. She called the Moon and the Sun. She told them to share their time with her. The Sun would visit her in the day, and the Moon at night. Both were very happy with the idea. This made the Ocean happy too. The Stars followed the Moon every day, to protect him from the Sun.From that day onwards, people saw the Sun in the day and the Moon at night. Moral:Fighting is not the solution to every problem.

Stars guarding the Moon

Once upon a time, there was a tiny star. The star lived with her parents in the space. The tiny star’s parents were beautiful big stars. The tiny star was very curious and excited to know what was happening around.She wanted to travel the world on her own, but her parents did not allow her as she was still very small. Her parents told her to wait until she was older. One day, the star saw a little blue planet. The planet looked so lovely that the tiny star forgot about her parents’ rules and went off to get a better look at the planet. The little star flew so fast that she soon got lost and did not know where her home was. When she arrived on the blue planet, which was the Earth, the people and animals thought she was a bright firefly. Everyone wanted to catch her. She fled as fast she could, frightened, she hid under a sheet. Seeing the sheet moving, everyone thought that it was a ghost, and they were afraid and ran away.The little star used this disguise to have fun. She used to scare everyone she met. One day, she reached a mountain. There lived a great dragon on the mountain. The little star tried to scare the dragon too. But she did not know that it was a ghost eating dragon. She managed to escape the dragon’s flames as she was a very hot little star. However, she was very sad as she missed her parents and was afraid of the dragon. She cried for a while but as the night fell, she got an idea to find her parents. She went on a high mountain and found a huge rock. She hid behind the rock looking up in the sky. She reappeared and then hid again. She continued doing it for a while.Her parents were worried about her and were searching for her everywhere. They saw some light twinkling from the distance. The light looked like her so, they went to look for the little star. The little star finally met her parents and was happy.After that, the tiny star never did something against her parents’ will. She always obeyed her parents. Moral:We should always obey our parents.

The Little Star

There was a country situated in a land far where it was always raining. There was not a single day when it would not rain. There were downpours of rain every day for years and years. A little boy lived in that country, in a little house on the mountain, with his Daddy and his dog.The boy was nine years old and for every day of his life, he had witnessed rain all day and all night. The boy had been into the rainy weather since birth. People used to tell him that before he was born, there had been a yellow round thing in the sky known as the Sun. The Sun was big, round-shaped and gave warmth and light to everything and everybody. It always had a big smile on its face. To see that big smile on the Sun, people would look at it and smile back at it.The little boy could not imagine the picture of the Sun, as he had never seen one. And he could not believe that people used to smile at him because in his village, people looked very sad and they never smiled.One day, people in the village noticed that the sky looked a little lighter. It was still raining, and the black clouds were still there, hanging in the sky but it seemed lighter. The next day, people noticed that the amount of rain was a little less than the usual days. The day after that, it rained only for half the day. After that, it only dripped and tricked. The next day, it stopped raining.After that, there were no black clouds instead the sky was filled with white clouds. People were surprised that it was not raining. Gradually, the blue skycould be seen and finally, one day, a big, round yellow thing appeared in the sky giving warmth and light to everybody. The people looked up to the sky and they smiled because that round thing had a big smile on its face.The little boy saw the big, yellow thing up in the sky and thought it might be the Sun, the yellow round thing he heard in the stories. He went out on the street and saw everyone else smiling. He was happy to see a smile on everyone’s face in his village. At night there were no clouds in the sky and people also saw stars in the sky. They all were very happy. They enjoyed the sunny weather. Happy days were finally here, and people celebrated it.Moral: Bad days and good days are a part of life. We must never lose hope. Good days will eventually follow the bad days.

The Sun, The Clouds, and The Stars

One day, stars went to the moon and asked him who shines brighter. The Moon proudly replied, “It’s me”. The stars started smiling and said, “No, we shine brighter”. The Moon did not agree with the stars. He believed he was the one who shined brighter. The stars decided to go to the children and asked them the question. The Moon and the stars went near a window and asked the children to tell who shined brightly. The children said, “Moon”. Suddenly, one big cloud came near the moon and children said, “No, Stars shine brightly”. When the cloud disappeared, they again said “Moon”. The stars and the Moon decided to ask someone else.They went to another window and saw an old man. They asked the old man, “Who shines brightly?” The old man said, “Oh, it’s very difficult for me to answer because I am too old, and I can’t see properly.” He said he cannot help them.Then, they went to another window and saw a mother singing a song for her baby so that he could sleep. They asked her the same question and the mother replied that her baby’s face is brighter than both.Then, they finally decided to ask Earth. The Moon was very happy, he felt that the Mother Earth will take his name. On asking the question to the Earth, he replied, “It is true that the moon shines brightly in the night and its light is very useful for fruits, vegetables, and green plants. But my son! Don’t be proud. Remember this light is not your own, you are getting it from the Sun. So, don’t feel proud of the things which are not yours “.The Earth continued, “The twinkling little stars are not so small. They are the buddies of the sun because the sun itself is also a star. Don’t be ignorant, if a few stars come together their heat and light will be unbearable for us. The twinkling of stars also provides beauty to the night. Don’t fight with each other.”Each one felt satisfied and thanked the Earth. Moral:Do not feel proud about things that do not belong to you. The very thought will destroy you. One should never underestimate anyone.
